Valentine, Jenny: Broken Soup

The story begins with the protagonist Rowan, who gets a negative of a photograph from a boy. She knows that it’s not hers, but she takes it with her because he urges her to take it. Her girl-friend Bee helps her to find out more about the strange photo, which shows her dead brother, or is it someone else?

The main character is Rowan Clark; she has got a little sister called Stroma. Her mum is depressive, because her son drowned four years ago. Because of that she has to care for her sister. And there is also Harper, the boy who gave Rowan the photo…

In my opinion the book “Broken Soup“ was really interesting. Sometimes it was a little bit boring, but I couldn’t stop reading, because there was a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter and so I wanted to know how it was going on. I loved the ending, it was very thrilling and exciting, and I couldn’t put the book down.

I would give “Broken Soup” **** stars, because it is really easy to read, and I did not have to look up any words in the dictionary. I recommend this book to people who are interested in thrillers and love stories.
