The Narnia Chronicles, vol. 3

SUMMARY:

The story „The Horse and his Boy“ by C. S. Lewis is about a boy named Shasta who lives with a poor fisherman named Arsheesh, but he isn’t very kind to Shasta. One day a nobleman from the south comes and wants to buy Shasta. While they bargain over the price, Shasta slips away to the stables. There he finds the nobleman’s talking horse, called Bree.
Bree tells Shasta how to ride and then the horse and the boy flee to the north. After a time they meet a girl, who has escaped from home on her talking horse Hwin.
Together they escape to Narnia, but war is about to come to Narnia, too. Can they defeat their enemy?
If you want to know how the story ends you have to read the book yourself!

COMMENTS:

I chose this book because I like watching the film adaptations of C. S. Lewis’ novels like „The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe“ so I decided to read a book by him.
I’d recommend it to all Narnia fans and to people who like fantasy and adventure stories.

LANGUAGE:

The language is just at the right level for 14-year-olds and it is very well written.
