Valentine, Jenny:  The Double Life of Cassiel Roadnight

This young adult novel is about a homeless boy, called Chap, who has had a really hard past. He looks pretty similar to Cassiel Roadnight, a teenager his age, who disappeared two years ago at the Hay on Fire festival on November 5th. And so Chap takes the chance of a better life and acts like the missing boy, but it’s hard for him, because he doesn’t know anything about his “new” family. Luckily it seems that nobody cares about the tiny differences, because Cassiel’s family, especially his sister Edie are so happy to see him again. It seems everything goes perfect and Chap starts wishing to be a part of this family forever. But everything changes when he meets Floyd, a weird mate of Cassiel’s. Where is this lost kid? Is he still alive or is he dead? Maybe killed, because he knew too much? Together with Floyd, Chap finds the truth about Cassiel Roadnight’s life and his thrilling past.
This book is exciting until the last page and grips your attention. The first chapters are a bit boring, but if you keep on reading I think that this thriller will impress you. I couldn’t put it down.
The language of the book is written in a really easy style and I think you could read it when you are in your third year of English without any problems.
